Long-term Care Quality
We gave this place one of our better grades in the area of long-term care, with an A-. This is a notably better grade than its overall grade, which was decent but not elite. Long-term care scores in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. In addition to assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 92.1466 percent of its patients. This is slightly less than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
We also wanted to emphasize this facility's nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of B+ in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection scores. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite minor. This particular nursing home received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is largely based on the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a low total compared with most facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In fact, it performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the final area, this facility was awarded a decent short-term care score of C. Our short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a broad scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we considered in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that just 4.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.
