Facility Inspections
In addition to being a respectable facility overall, this facility also excelled in the category of inspections, where it received an A. Few nursing homes performed better in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This means that CMS did not deem any of these deficiencies to create an immediate threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
The second best area we awarded this nursing home in any category came in the category of long-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-. Long-term care grades are generally used to score a nursing home's performance as a traditional convalescent home, as opposed to focusing on the skilled nursing services offered by a rehabilitation facility. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 99.39394 percent of its patients, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality
Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of C, which is a decent grade. The nursing score includes quite a few factors, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This place averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is well below average. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this place actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is usually an indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we graded is short-term care. Sadly, it received an abysmal F in this area, which is an abysmal grade. This is clearly a major disappointment. With our short-term care category, we strive to forge a sound gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the nursing home's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. With a grade of this caliber for this category, we were not stunned to discover this place was below average in multiple staffing areas we assess. In fact, it provided substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most other nursing homes. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.7 percent of its patients returning home.
