Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

While we were fairly low on this nursing home overall, we awarded it an A- for our inspections rating. This score is significantly more impressive than the facility's overall score. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is typically best to avoid facilities that have a long list of severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home was awarded its next best category score in the area of long-term care. We gave this nursing home a C in this category, which is a decent grade. For residents seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are a key measure. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. We were concerned by the fact that this facility vaccinated just 89.81901 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Nevertheless, this facility excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next best category we awarded this facility in any area came in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a C. In determining our short-term care grades, we scrutinize a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This category is more often than not a reliable measure of the facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. The final statistic we considered in this category is the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

Moving on to our final category, this facility did not fare very well here either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in nursing, this is about as bad as it gets. Our nursing grade includes several subcategories, most of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these statistics to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
