On top of being a great facility overall, it also received A+ inspections in recent years. Its inspections are virtually flawless. Inspection scores are tied to many items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Adding to its elite resume, this nursing home also excelled in our short-term care area. In fact, we awarded it a score of A for the area. Short-term care grades are commonly used to judge a facility's performance with rehabilitation. To provide highly rated rehabilitation services, facilities generally must have better levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community.
