Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, we did not have any good things to say about this place's overall grade or its other ratings. Its best category was the category of inspections. However, with just a D in this category, it still performed poorly. Our inspection scores weigh many items on the nursing home's inspection reports. If you see severe deficiencies on the inspection reports, this is generally a bad sign. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to the well being of residents. This particular nursing home had one category G through L deficiency, which are among the more serious categories of deficiencies. This generally indicates that the deficiencies found by the government inspectors had potential to cause actual harm to residents. Lastly, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this place received significant government fines recently amounting to more than $100,000. This often indicates that a facility's poor performance spanned multiple years.
Short-term Care Quality
In our next category, we gave this nursing home a rock-bottom F in the area of short-term care. Short-term care grades are vital for prospective residents in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires additional highly-skilled nursing. This includes a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. With a grade in this range in this category, we were not stunned to find that this place was well below average in several staffing figures we looked at. The facility offered substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other nursing homes. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. This definitely was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 4.1 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. At most facilities, about half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.

Nurse Quality
In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing rating is mostly tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This nursing home fared well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these statistics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed was long-term care. We gave it an abysmal F in this category, which is a very poor score. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 95.731705 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this place also fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
