Facility Inspections
While we did not have many positive things to say about this facility's overall score, it did receive a respectable government inspection report this year. It received a decent grade in this area with a B-. We believe that one of the most critical factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially look at the severity of the deficiencies. While this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Nurse Quality
We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B-. Nursing ratings are largely based on the facility's nurse staffing. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a much lower figure than we were hoping for. Lastly, although this facility got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it excelled in a few of our quality-based metrics. With less than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it fared well in this subcategory.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's next highest category was short-term care. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of B-. Short-term care ratings are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, this facility was below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that just 5 percent of this facility's residents returned home. Unfortunately, this was below the national average.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we assessed is long-term care. Sadly, it received an F for this category, which is a poor grade. Long-term care grades in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. We were disappointed to learn that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 86.89139 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
