Nurse Quality
While we didn't give this nursing home a good overall grade, we did give it a very strong grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B. Nursing grades are based largely on quality and quantity of nursing care. This particular nursing home provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
Surprisingly, this facility actually received a good grade in the area of inspections as well. We gave it a B for that category, which is one of our better scores. Few nursing homes that were this poor overall earned multiple category grades of this caliber. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite minor. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even with this deficiency, this was still a relatively positive report.

Short-term Care Quality
The next best category we awarded this facility in any area came in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a C. Our short-term care ratings are presumably more important for individuals requiring a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. This includes not merely nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. We were surprised to find that this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we focus on. In fact, it provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. It is important to determine whether this is adversely impacting the quality of care. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 4.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below the national average.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our final category, we awarded this facility a grade of D in our long-term care category. This was the facility's least impressive category score. Facilities that do not fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. After we finished looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. Candidly, we were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated only 67.34694 percent of its residents against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
