Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with a strong overall grade, we awarded this facility a grade of A+ for inspections. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in this industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

This facility also was given an A+ for its short-term care score. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 7.1 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home also received an A+ nursing grade, making it one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+ category grades. Nursing grades are mostly based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category, we gave this nursing home an A+ for our long-term care rating. This finished off a very impressive profile. When facilities receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to live on a permanent basis. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 96.34146 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients out of the hospital. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
