When facilities receive this type of grade in this category it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses aids. On top of patient-friendly nursing hour statistics, this facility's vaccination statistics is superb also. Indeed, this facility vaccinated 99.65987 percent of its patients against pneumonia. This combination proved to be successful as this place keeps its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

In our final area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its short-term care score. This completed a very favorable report card. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to devise a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of various facilities. This nursing home boosted its score in this category by offering more physical therapy hours to its residents than the average facility. The final datapoint we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that it fared better than most nursing homes in this area with 55.8 percent of its residents returning home. Unfortunately, at most nursing homes, fewer than half of their short-stay residents are able to return home.
