Nurse Quality

Grade: B

One of the reasons this proved to be a decent nursing home is it earned a very favorable nursing grade. In fact, its nursing grade is its best category. In this area, we awarded this facility a B. When determining our nursing scores, we analyze both nursing hours and the training levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by having a system of moving patients at least once a day.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B

This nursing home's inspection score exceeded its overall score as well. We awarded them one of our better grades in that area, with a B. This is a notably better grade than its overall grade. Inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher scores in this area generally have very few severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

In addition, we awarded this facility a B in our short-term care category. This is one of our better scores. In the area of short-term care, we seek to qualify measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. It doesn't look like this nursing home submitted data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents that returned home from the facility. We found that 4.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we analyzed is long-term care. This facility was awarded a grade of B- in the area. In calculating our long-term care ratings, we scrutinize the assistance with daily living received by the nursing home's patients. After we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. We were pleased to find that this nursing home vaccinated 94.64286 percent of its patients for pneumonia. This place also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
