Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to faring well overall, this nursing home also received a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively minor. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we were able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition, this facility was given strong marks in the category of short-term care. Consequently, it received one of our highest scores in that area with a grade of A+. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze a facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This grade is often a useful assessment of the facility's rehabilitation. Fortunately, this nursing home offers both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities offer both. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 6.8 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This facility also fared very well in the area of long-term care, where we awarded it a score of A. Not many nursing homes performed better in this area. In a long-term care environment, the primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. After assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this nursing home provided data regarding vaccinations. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

In the final area, this nursing home also received an excellent nursing rating, with a grade of A-. This wrapped up a very favorable profile. Nursing ratings are based in large part on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these data points as good indicators of the caliber of nursing care offered, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
