Facility Inspections
To go along with its decent overall score, we awarded this nursing home an A for its inspection grade. This is far more impressive than its overall score. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Although this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. A few minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Short-term Care Quality
Additionally, we also would like to note that this nursing home received positive short-term care marks in this assessment. We awarded them one of our more favorable grades in that category, with a grade of B. This proved to be the facility's second strongest grade. In our short-term care category, we endeavor to create a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
One of this facility's better category grades was in the area of nursing care. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of C. There are a number of factors included in this category. Most of the datapoints are tied to the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This figure is significantly below the national average. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is often a good indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's least impressive category was long-term care, which is the last category we assessed. We gave it an abysmal F for this area. Despite some respectable grades in other areas, this grade is nevertheless of a concern so we wanted to draw your attention to it. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. We were optimistic to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 97.297295 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
