Facility Inspections
The primary reason this turned out to be a decent nursing home is that it received an excellent inspection score. Its inspection grade was far superior to its overall grade. In our inspections category, we gave this facility an A. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite minor. This particular nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
One of this facility's more favorable category grades came in the area of long-term care. This wound up being its second best category. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of C. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care ratings. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 97.61905 percent of its patients, which is better than the vast majority of nursing homes. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our short-term care grade. This is well below average in this category. Short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Given its grade in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this nursing home was well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
The next category we assessed is nursing. Sadly, it received a lowly F in this category, which is a poor grade. This is clearly a major concern. Our nursing rating analyzes the facility's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with residents. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. On top of receiving below average marks for nursing hours, this nursing home was less impressive in some of the quality-based measures we looked at in calculating our nursing scores. We looked at the percentage of patients suffering pressure ulcers and found this place was at roughly 1.5 times the national average in this statistic.
