Facility Inspections
While this nursing home's overall grade was as bad as it gets, it actually didn't perform terribly in the area of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a C for that category, which is one of our better scores. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection scores. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively insignificant. This nursing home had 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were in categories G through L. This tells you that this facility avoided the more serious classes of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our long-term care grade and that actually turned out to be its next most favorable category. For prospective residents looking for a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are an important measure. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility provided the vaccine to 99.5935 percent of its residents, which is a very respectable percentage. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
