Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we gave this facility a terrible overall score, we gave it a B- for our nursing category. Our nursing score weighs a number of factors. The most heavily weighted factor is the amount of time nurses spend with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home surprisingly fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. It performed well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
Remarkably, we gave this nursing home a C for its long-term care grade, which really isn't a bad grade. For long-term care residents, the primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. After assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, this facility vaccinated only 58.00712 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Nevertheless, this nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's inspection grade where it received an F. For facilities that received this bad of an inspection rating, we would scrutinize the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This particular facility had 5 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they posed a threat to resident safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the fourth category, this nursing home really did not perform well here either. With a bottom of the barrel grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. In determining our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This score is more often than not a useful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
