Facility Inspections
We also wanted to emphasize that this facility has received near flawless government inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A+ in this category. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that category, we gave this facility an A-. Nursing grades are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive short-term care score. This actually is its third best category grade. In that category, this facility received a score of A-. Our short-term care scores are presumably more meaningful for residents requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally mandates more highly-skilled nursing services. This includes not merely nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 4.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at was long-term care. We gave this facility one of our more favorable grades in this area, with a grade of B. Although this was not as dominant as many of its other grades, it is nevertheless an excellent grade. Nursing homes that excel in this category typically provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 99.4186 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is much higher than most nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
