Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

One of the reasons this place ended up being a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this very important category. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this category typically have very few severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. In calculating our nursing scores, we analyze both staffing levels and the training levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving patients more often.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

We also want to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received a top-shelf score of A- in our short-term care area. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last measure we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 5.1 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In the final category, this nursing home also was awarded an excellent long-term care grade, with an A-. This wrapped up an elite report card. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure residents are kept in good health. After looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is much higher than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
