On top of being a great nursing home overall, it also received A+ inspections recently. Its inspections are virtually flawless. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. This facility received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This means that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Adding to its high-end resume, this facility also performed well in our long-term care category. In fact, it received a score of A- for that category. The goal is to create a measure for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

The final area we graded was nursing, where this nursing home was given a grade of B. Believe it or not, this turned out to be this facility's least impressive category. A nursing home is doing something right when it's lowest grade still is better than most other nursing homes. We scrutinized the levels of nurses working for the facility, as well as the quantity of time the nurses worked with residents, in computing our score in this area. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. We view these metrics as predictive measures of the quality of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
