Facility Inspections
This facility received a quality overall grade as described above, but we especially would like to emphasize its nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded it an impressive grade of A in this category. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home was hit with 10 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to create an imminent risk to patient safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Nursing grades are primarily tied to the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
The next area we assessed was short-term care. We gave them one of our most favorable grades in that category, with a A-. Our short-term care grade is typically employed to score a nursing home's rehabilitation services In order to provide highly graded rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must feature higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final item we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 5 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we assessed is long-term care. In this category, we awarded this nursing home a decent grade of C. This actually is this facility's weakest area. For residents looking for a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 97.75785 percent of its patients, which is better than the vast majority of nursing homes. This facility also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
