Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
This facility received a strong overall grade as described above, but we wanted to note its excellent short-term care score. We awarded them an A in this area. Short-term care grades are typically used to measure a facility's rehabilitation services. To offer high-end rehabilitation services, facilities generally must offer higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
Nurse Quality
Among this facility's other strengths is its elite nursing grade. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of A-. The nursing grade considers a variety of subcategories. The most heavily weighted factor is the amount of time nurses spend with residents. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned a solid inspection report this year as well, with few dings from the applicable government inspectors. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that category with a score of B-. We would argue that one of the most critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially look at the severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we assessed was long-term care. We gave this facility a grade of D in long-term care, making this its least impressive category grade. If you are seeking anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. Once we finished looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination records. We were pleased to learn that this nursing home vaccinates 96.74797 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home also keeps its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
