Facility Inspections
In addition to having a decent overall rating, we also would like to point out that this nursing home received favorable inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our better grades in this category, with a grade of B+. This is a much better grade than the facility's overall grade. Our inspection grades are tied to several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This nursing home was assessed 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to resident safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies should not stop you from considering a nursing home.
Nurse Quality
This facility's second best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is primarily tied to a nursing home's nurse staffing. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. It scored well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care. In some cases, the quality of nursing care is as important as the quantity of hours of care provided.

Short-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed is short-term care, where this facility received a grade of B- in this area. Short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. In this place's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the typical facility. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 4.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we analyzed was long-term care, which was a weak link for this facility. We gave this facility a grade of D for long-term care. For prospective patients in need of a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are a key measure. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were pleased to find that this nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
