Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing grade. There are a variety of datapoints within this category. Many of the factors reflect the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

Adding to an already impressive profile, this facility also received virtually flawless health inspections in recent years. As a result, we awarded it an A+ inspection grade. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite insignificant. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor dings aren't necessarily something to panic about.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Turning to an additional strength for this nursing home, we awarded them one of our more positive scores in our short-term care category as well, with a B+. Short-term care grades are often employed to score a nursing home's rehabilitation services To have highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally must provide better levels of highly skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last statistic we considered in this area is the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from the facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category we looked at, this facility was awarded a very favorable grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this grade, the facility rounded out a very favorable report card. For residents looking for a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After assessing the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 91.75258 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be a bit below what we were hoping for but still a respectable figure. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
