Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility has received near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some end up being quite minor. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Compounding its dominant assessments in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a score of A for our long-term care rating. Facilities that receive this type of grade in this category tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are well cared for. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 84.946236 percent of its patients. This is slightly lower than we anticipated. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. The nursing score assesses quite a few components, most of which are associated with nursing hours. This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these metrics as good indicators of the caliber of nursing care offered, since better care tends to reduce these problems.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

The last area we analyzed is short-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B+. This finished off a very favorable profile. Only a select few facilities received a B+ or better in every category. In our short-term care category, we endeavor to craft a valuable measure for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze the nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. We weren't able to track down registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
