The next most favorable area we gave this nursing home in any category came in the area of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-. Short-term care grades are commonly used to assess a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation To have good rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to offer higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this area is the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 5.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Moving on to our last area, this nursing home was given a respectable long-term care score of B-. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 71.42857 percent of its patients. This is several points below what we expected. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
