Facility Inspections
To go along with its favorable overall grade, we gave this facility an A+ for our inspection category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some are quite minor. This place received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that the inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to create an immediate risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+. Our nursing score is largely tied to a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed was long-term care. This nursing home also received an A+ long-term care grade, rendering it one of the few nursing homes to be awarded more than one A+ category grades. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. Once we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 99.411766 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia tragically can be a deadly health condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't leave this to chance. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we analyzed was short-term care, in which this facility received a B-. This actually proved to be this nursing home's worst category. This is nevertheless not the end of the world. In the area of short-term care, we strive to assess indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we considered in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 3.3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.
