Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home excelled in our shot-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. For prospective patients in need of a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are an important measure. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 69.23077 percent of its patients, which is a bit less than we were hoping for. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, we were pleased to find place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

This nursing home has earned near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A in this area. Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this area generally have few severe deficiencies. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that category. When determining a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the quantity of hours nurses are caring for residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

In the final area, we awarded this facility a grade of A for its short-term care grade. This rounded out a very impressive report card. Our short-term care grades are based on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists.
