Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home highly overall, we want to point out its excellent government inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A- in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be quite insignificant. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this place still received a relatively positive inspection report.
Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Nursing grades are based in large part on levels of nurse staffing. This place averaged just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is not a very impressive figure. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This place fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility only received a D for its long-term care grade, which is not an impressive grade. Long-term care ratings in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We discovered that this nursing home administered the vaccine to a relatively low 84.745766 percent of its residents, which is somewhat alarming. Surprisingly, this place was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we graded is short-term care, which is this nursing home's least impressive category. We gave this facility a grade of D in that area. Short-term care ratings are critical for individuals requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more skilled nursing. This means a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Considering its grade in this category, we weren't stunned to learn that this place was well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we assessed. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. Finally, we considered the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.
