Nurse Quality
A+
Historical
On top of being a first rate nursing home overall, this nursing home also excelled in the category of nursing, where it received an A+. Few nursing homes fared better in this area. There are many factors included in this category. Most of the factors relate to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 4.8 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This was one of the highest totals we found. Furthermore, a significant portion of this care was provided by registered nurses, which are highly skilled nurses. Both of these statistics are impressive. On top of providing high levels of care, this nursing home also performed well in several of the quality measures we looked at. In terms of the number of its residents suffering falls resulting in major injury, this facility performed as well as any facility Michigan.
Short-term Care Quality
A+
Historical
We also gave this nursing home a score of A+ for its short-term care grade. In our short-term care category, we strive to create a valuable gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we assess the nursing home's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. This facility provides more services with registered nurses and physical therapists than most nursing homes we looked at. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients that returned home from this facility. On top of excelling in the area of physical therapy, we found that it performed as well as just about any facility in the nation with 64.3 percent of its residents returning home.

Facility Inspections
A
Historical
We awarded this nursing home a score of A for inspections. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
A
Historical
In the final category we looked at, this facility was awarded a very favorable grade of A in our long-term care category. With this score, the facility wrapped up a straight A profile. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 95.71429 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is more than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
