Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a C for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. Inspection grades account for several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent danger to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Turning to the area of short-term care, this facility received a grade of just D in this area. Sadly, this ended up being one of its better grades. Our short-term care ratings are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a wide range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. With its grade in this area, we weren't stunned to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. We analyzed the levels of nurses at the nursing home, in addition to the quantity of time the nurses spent with patients, in determining our rating in this area. This place averaged only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This place performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these datapoints to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

The next area we rated is long-term care. This nursing home received a rock bottom grade of F in this area. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in some of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this nursing home provided the vaccine to only 80.350876 percent of its residents, which is slightly concerning. To our surprise, this facility was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
