Although we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it earned a relatively impressive inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our better scores in that area with a B. Inspection scores are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid facilities with severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. While this nursing home had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.

Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. There are numerous criteria included in this grade. Most of these criteria are tied to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This place provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing scores. This facility performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

The third area we analyzed is short-term care. This nursing home's was given an abysmal short-term care grade where it was given a lowly F. Our short-term care scores are meaningful for prospective residents needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates more highly-skilled nursing. This includes a vast range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. As you might expect, we learned that this place provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the typical facility. The final measure we considered in this category is the number of residents that returned home from the facility. Switching gears to our last category, this nursing home didn't perform well in this area either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as bad as it gets. Once we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility vaccinated just 87.671234 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This was its best score in this category.
