Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home earned an impressive grade of A for short-term care. With our short-term care category, we attempt to forge a fair measure for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final datapoint we looked at in this area is the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive category grades, this nursing home also excelled in the category of inspections, where it earned a grade of A-. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. We should point out that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of turning a patient more frequently.
Long-term Care Quality
In the final category we looked at, this nursing home was given a very strong grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this grade, the facility topped off a very favorable report card. Facilities that do well in this category typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to patients. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 97.683395 percent of its residents. This is a proven method to avoid unnecessary deaths for the aged 65 and up population.
