Nurse Quality
One of the many reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. The nursing rating assesses a handful of components, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This place boasts a really impressive 4.5 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, of which a significant percentage of those hours were provided by registered nurses. This is one of the most highly highly skilled levels of nurses. This is one of the better totals of nursing hours we found. On top of providing impressive levels of nursing care, this place also excelled in the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed as well as any facility in Washington when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
Adding to its first-rate resume, this facility also was given a superb long-term care grade, with a score of A. For residents in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. While we determined this nursing home has a favorable quantity of nursing hours provided by nurses aids and other nursing staff, we found its vaccination rate to be somewhat below average. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to just 78.606964 percent of its patients. This is one statistic we'd like to see this facility improve on. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned a B for its inspections score. This is an above average score in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite insignificant. This particular nursing home received 11 deficiencies on its inspection report. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
The last category we analyzed is short-term care. This nursing home received a favorable nursing grade in our assessment, with a grade of B. Even though this wasn't quite as dominant as a few of its other category grades, this remains one of our stronger grades in this area. Short-term care grades are often used to score a nursing home's rehabilitation services. In order to provide highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to offer higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. One of this nursing home's strengths is registered nurse hours. We found that it offers more care from registered nurses to its residents than most facilities. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that 44.1 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home rather than remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
