Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

One of the reasons this ended up being a quality facility is that it earned an impressive inspection rating. Inspections turned out to be its best category. In this category, we gave this facility a grade of A-. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some are quite insignificant. While this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This tells you that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in this industry.

Our short-term care grade is often used to score a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation To provide good rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to feature better levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we assessed was long-term care, in which this facility was awarded a B-. This actually ended up being this nursing home's worst area. This is nevertheless not a poor grade. In our long-term care score, we focus more on the quantity of care offered by a facility, along with a few qualitative measures. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit concerned this facility administered the vaccine to a relatively low 81.48148 percent of its patients. Fortunately, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
