While this facility's overall grade was as bad as it gets, it actually really excelled in the category of inspections. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Inspection scores are based on items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. This tells you that CMS didn't consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent threat to resident health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.

Not surprisingly, we learned that this facility offers significantly less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than the average nursing home. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
