Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ short-term care grade. Our short-term care scores are presumably more critical for residents needing rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally mandates more highly-skilled nursing. This includes not only nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing grade. This turned out to be its second best category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility an A+. There are a host of datapoints within this category. Most of these factors relate to staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Facility Inspections
This nursing home has earned near flawless inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of A in this area. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to our final area, this nursing home also excelled in the long-term care category. We gave it an A- in that area. This finalized a straight A report card. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. Once we concluded our assessment of the volume of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 85.92965 percent of its patients for pneumonia. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
