Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home received an A+ in the area of short-term care. With our short-term care grade, we seek to forge a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we considered in this category is the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

The next category we looked at was inspections, where this facility also received an A+ grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Unfortunately, we were not able to track down deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

This facility also excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Our nursing rating analyzes the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with residents. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Turning to the last area, this nursing home received a very strong long-term care rating. We awarded it an A- in that category, giving this facility straight A's. For patients looking for a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After we finished assessing the amount of care provided by nurses, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 91.42012 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
