Facility Inspections
Although we were not complementary of this place's overall performance, it did receive an impressive inspection report this year with few dings from the applicable government inspectors. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that area with a B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively insignificant. While this nursing home had some minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
We also awarded this facility a grade of C for our nursing rating. Our nursing grade is largely associated with a facility's nurse staffing. This place provides only 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a somewhat alarming figure as it is well below average. Finally, although this facility got dinged a bit for nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of our quality metrics. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed very well in this statistic.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility only received a grade of D for its long-term care score, which is not one of our better scores. When facilities receive this type of score in long-term care it is a bad sign for patient care and it may indicate that the nursing home is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. One of the criteria we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. We were a bit concerned this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to just 54.333332 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the last area, this facility really did not perform very well here either. Due to a poor grade of F in short-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. Short-term care grades are based on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Considering its abysmal grade in this area, we weren't shocked to learn this facility offers far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.3 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
