In addition, we also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received strong long-term care marks in this assessment. We awarded them one of our higher grades in that category, with a B. This proved to be the facility's second best grade. Nursing homes that do well in this category typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents, which is better than most nursing homes. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

With its score in this category, we were not surprised to find that this facility is well below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Frankly, this was about what we expected to find. The final item we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.8 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar metrics sunk this nursing home's short-term care grade.

This nursing home's worst category is nursing, which is the last area we analyzed. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F in this area. Even with a few decent grades in other categories, this score is still concerning so we wanted to draw your attention to it.
