With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as employing a system of moving a patient at least once a day.

This nursing home also was awarded an impressive long-term care score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B+ in this area. Facilities that excel in this category tend to provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 99.56332 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a proven method to avoid unnecessary deaths for the elderly population. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

The last area we rated was short-term care, in which this facility was awarded a B. Believe it or not, this ended up being this nursing home's worst area. A nursing home could be doing a lot worse when their lowest score still beats out most nursing homes.
