Facility Inspections
This nursing home received a strong overall score as described above, but we especially would like to emphasize its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave it an A in this area. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Fortunately, although this nursing home had some minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility received a strong long-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that area with a score of B+. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 67.63636 percent of its residents. This is somewhat below what we were hoping for. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, we were pleased to find nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes.

Nurse Quality
The final category we rated was nursing. In this category, we awarded this nursing home a C. Our nursing grade looks at the facility's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of training of those nurses as well as the amount of time spent with patients. This place provides only 3.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a somewhat uninspiring figure which is well below the national average. Lastly, our nursing ratings also consider some quality-focused statistics. We look at the percentage of residents who experienced pressure ulcers and major falls. Sometimes these metrics are decent indicators of the quality of nursing care, since superior care tends to reduce these issues.
