Facility Inspections
While we were fairly low on this nursing home overall, we awarded it a grade of A for our inspections rating. This score is significantly more impressive than the nursing home's overall grade. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. It is generally best to avoid facilities that have a long list of deficiencies. While this place had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility's next best area is short-term care. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a C. Our short-term care ratings are probably more critical for residents in need of rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing services. This means not only nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, this nursing home offers both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities offer both. The last datapoint we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. It was above average in this area with 51.6 percent of its patients returning home.

Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of C. Our nursing grade weighs a handful of components, but the primary one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 2.9 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is often a good indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we rated is long-term care. This facility received a very poor grade of F in that area. For residents looking for a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 98.08429 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.34 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
