Facility Inspections
Although we were not high on this place overall, we awarded it a grade of B for our inspections rating. This grade is far more impressive than the nursing home's overall score. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility also received a strong score in our short-term care category. We awarded this facility a better than average grade of B in this category. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates additional skilled nursing services. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. We were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. Lastly, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality
Among this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing score features a number of subcategories. The most important variable is the number of hours nurses spent with patients. This nursing home provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is well below average. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the fourth area, this nursing home didn't fare well in this category either. Due to a very poor grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. Facilities that don't fare well in long-term care typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 92.04153 percent of its patients, which is a bit less than we were hoping for. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
