Short-term Care Quality
One of the reasons this proved to be a quality facility is that it received a very impressive short-term care rating. In fact, short-term care is its best category. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an A-. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to assess indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. It doesn't appear that this facility submitted registered nurse or physical therapist staffing data. The final statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 6.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
Facility Inspections
In addition, this nursing home excelled in inspections, where it earned an B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection grades. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite minor. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This means that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a strong nursing score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B in this area. The nursing rating assesses several subcategories, however, the main one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we rated is long-term care, is this facility's least impressive area. We gave this facility a grade of D in that area. This really was one of the couple of weak points in an otherwise strong profile. For residents seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 99.25373 percent of its patients, which is higher than the majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
