To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 99.08676 percent of its patients, which is much higher than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

This nursing home is also strong in the category of short-term care, where it received a score of B+. It performed more favorably than most facilities in this area. In computing our short-term care ratings, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our purpose is to formulate a tool for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents who eventually returned home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

The final category we graded is nursing. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a solid grade of C. This actually was this facility's weakest area. Our nursing score includes a handful of subcategories, many of which are associated with nursing hours. This nursing home averages just 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, nursing scores also factor in quality-based measures, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is generally a reliable indicator that a facility has quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses aids to assist its residents.
