Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this area most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded an impressive short-term care grade as well. We gave it one of our better scores in that category with a score of B+. In our short-term care assessment, we endeavor to forge a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final item we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents that were able to return home from the facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality
The third area we looked at is long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a favorable long-term care grade, with a B+ in this area. Long-term care scores in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. Once we looked at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 99.10714 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Nurse Quality
Switching gears to our last area, this nursing home was awarded an extremely favorable nursing score. Although this wasn't as good as a few of its other category grades, this is still one of the more favorable grades a facility can receive. Our nursing rating analyzes the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of skill of those nurses and the number of hours spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed better than average in this area. This is often a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
