Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

Although we didn't grade this nursing home favorably overall, we actually gave it an excellent grade in the area of inspections, where it received an A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being quite insignificant. This facility was assessed 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This tells you that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home's long-term care score ended up being one of its best scores. The facility was awarded a grade of C in this category. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 98.67257 percent of its patients. This place keeps its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of C. Nursing ratings are tied to quality and quantity of nursing care. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. It scored well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: D

The final area we assessed is short-term care, is this facility's worst area. We gave this facility a D in that category. Our short-term care grades are likely most meaningful for folks in need of rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation usually requires more highly-skilled nursing services. This means not just nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
