Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B for our inspections rating. This was the result of the nursing home receiving a decent inspection report this year. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid facilities that have too many severe deficiencies. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to note this nursing home's poor long-term care grade where it received a lowly F. For prospective patients in need of a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. We were optimistic to find that this facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
