Facility Inspections
We want to point out that this facility outperformed its overall grade in the area of inspections. In fact, it received an excellent government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our best grades in this area with a grade of A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. While this facility had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this nursing home a strong score in long-term care. This nursing home earned a grade of B in this area, which happens to be one of our more favorable scores. For prospective residents looking for a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. This facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to 87.37864 percent of its residents. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, at least this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality
One of this facility's better category grades was in the area of nursing care. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of B-. The nursing rating assesses a handful of subcategories, many of which are associated with quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day, which is not an impressive total. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often a good indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our fourth area, this facility did not fare well. Due to a very poor grade of F in short-term care, this is this nursing home's poorest category. In the area of short-term care, we seek to qualify indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. With a score in this range for this area, we weren't stunned to find that this facility was below average in several staffing figures we focus on. It supplied significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most facilities. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the number of patients who ultimately returned home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.2 percent of its patients returning home. This was quite a bit below the national average.
