Facility Inspections
In addition to receiving a strong overall score, this nursing home performed well in inspections, which is based on the facility's recent inspection reports. We gave it an A for that category. Inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Our nursing grade is largely associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality
Moving on our third area, this facility received first-rate long-term care grade. In fact, it received a grade of A in this category. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 90.68323 percent of its residents. This is a few points below what we expected but still a decent figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
In the last category, we gave this facility a grade of A for its short-term care grade. This wrapped up a very strong report card. With our short-term care category, we seek to forge a sound measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess a nursing home's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last metric we considered in this category is the number of patients who ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that 4.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
