Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home an A- in the short-term care category. Short-term care grades are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last item we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 6.6 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home also excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite insignificant. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home's next best category was nursing. We awarded it a grade of B- in this category. This is basically a middle of the road grade in this category. The nursing rating is based on a handful of factors, many of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this place performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is usually a good indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the final area, we gave this nursing home a D for our long-term care category. This is the nursing home's least impressive category rating. Of course, this grade pulled down the facility's overall grade to some degree. For prospective residents in need of a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
