One of the reasons this place is a strong facility is that it earned a very impressive inspection score. In fact, inspections turned out to be its best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Our inspection grades are tied to several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that excel in this category tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.

Our short-term care grade is generally employed to score a facility's performance with rehabilitation. In order to offer highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally must have better levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last item we looked at in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B+. Nursing ratings are heavily correlated with quality and quantity of nursing care. This particular nursing home provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

The next category we rated was this nursing home's poorest area. Nevertheless, even in its weakest link we still gave it an acceptable grade of C in long-term care. In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We found that this facility gave the vaccine to only 77.34807 percent of its patients, which is somewhat concerning. On a more positive note, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations.
